Digital Division and wartime novels.

This week we are trying out a new homework task right here on our blog to help us practice some of the number processes we have been studying in class recently.
Once you have played the game make sure you tick that task as done in your homework jotter.
Perhaps you could play with someone else at home and compare the results!

Make sure to read your novel ( or have someone read it with you) and find out what happens next to the evacuted children, whether you are reading Carrie's War by Nina Bawden, Friend or Foe by Michael Morpurgo or Goodnight Mr Tom by Michelle Magorian.

Look out for more poems about the Blitz on our wiki soon.

Properties and Prints

This week we have been testing Euler's formula.
V - E + F = 2

We finished the print making we have been doing with Mrs Firth. It is based on Inuit bird drawings and prints. We used polystyrene for our prints but Inuit prints are traditionally made on stone.

It was great fun making the prints and the results are impressive!

Snowrollers!

Back at school after the Christmas and New Year break and it is snowing again. We are beginning to recognise the different types of snow which occur at different temperatures. Today we had a very unusual snow phenomenon occur right outside out classroom window as we watched!

At first they are tiny...

They roll down the hill leaving 'footprints'....

Some of them got quite big.
We decided not to play in that area at break - we didn't want to destroy them.
